Stephanie began doing yoga over 10 years ago while pregnant with her 2nd child. Having been a gymnast, dancer and cheerleader during childhood and teenage years, yoga was something that felt amazingly freeing and immediately connected with the mind, body and soul.
Stephanie has been a part of Healing Power Yoga since it's inception as well as a part of Equinox and Sanctuary Yoga teaching staff. Over the years, she has studied with many master teachers including Shiva Rea, Seane Corn, Ana Forest, John Friend, Tias Little, Baron Baptiste, Andre Lappa and Natasha Rizopoulos.
Locally, she has studied and assisted Lourdes Paredes for many years. Upon completion of the Yoga Alliance 200 hour certification in the fall of 2003–2004, Stephanie assisted Daren Friesen, the owner of Moksha Yoga, in a year long teacher training in 2005–2006. She has studied and has been trained in many styles of yoga such as Hatha, Iyengar, Ashtanga and Anusara yoga techniques. Pranayama is also studied and incorporated into practices.
